Busy November!

After our crazy October, I'm so relieved that our November includes a mini vacation! Our November calendar doesn't look much different than our October one. Here's what we have going on this month!

-buy Riley's dresser and clean out her closet
-birthday party
-Alan and his dad are going to an NFL game
-music classes and suppers at church
-31 week Dr appointment
-massage
-an entire weekend dedicated to potty training Madison(and lots of praying)
-2 church volunteer events
-Our dog, Micki's 10th birthday
-maternity pictures
-Thanksgiving
-our Christmas tree trip
-Baby shower!

Add in a couple of birthdays, church, haircuts(including Madison!) and likely a mani/pedi for this mama(and maybe Daddy too!) before our trip and it's another crazy month.

This or That

A night without the kids, or a night with well behaved kids?

This is my first This or That linkup.  This one is all about the kiddos!

1. A night without the kids, or A night with well behaved kids.
A night out. Alan and I hardly ever go out alone so this one is easy! Plus Madison is a well behaved kid so we get the night in most of the time.

2. Full on tantrum in the grocery store, or Full on tantrum in the movie theater
Grocery store. For 1, Madison is too young to pay for her to see a movie and 2, movies are expensive. She would want popcorn, chocolate and slushies. I can leave a full buggy of groceries in the store and not think twice but leaving a movie I paid roughly $65 to see, no way!
3. Runny nose or Runny bum
I would think any parent would say Nose. That one is much easier than the latter.

4. Self done haircut, or Self done Sharpie tattoo.
tattoo. I can wash that off but her cutting her own hair would not be good since her hair grows slow.

  • A night without the kids, or a night with well behaved kids? I’m definitely going with a night without the kids! We don’t get time together, alone very often.  I guess you can say that after the kids go to bed we do, but at that point we are both exhausted and just need to relax.  It would be nice to get out for a monthly date night, but right now I’d even take a yearly date night!!
  • Full on tantrum in the grocery store, or tantrum in the movie theatre? I’ve ever had to deal with either of these. We haven’t had many public tantrums…yet. Right now if I had to choose, I’d choose the grocery store. I don’t think I’m crazy enough to take the kids to too many movies at this age, and if we were in the grocery store I’d hang my head and leave!
  • Runny nose or runny bum? Definitely, definitely runny nose!! Again, never had to deal with a runny bum and it doesn’t sound like I ever want to! I’m used to Oliver yelling that he “has a boogie!!” and getting kleenex to wipe it for him!
  • Self done haircut, self done sharpie tattoo

tattoo for sure! I can wash it off or cover it up(hopefully!) Her hair grows pretty slow so a horrible haircut would be around for a while.

    Halloween 2013

Madison had a huge day! Her school has a big carnival and her class got to watch the older kids walk in a costume parade and then they had a party at 11:30 with cupcakes, gold fish and fruit. I helped with the party and Alan came in. She was so happy to have us there! She ate her fruit and cupcake and then wanted to play in her class. I didn't dress her up for fear that she'd be uncomfortable and/or mess up her costume before being able to trick or treat.

After school, I brought her home(Alan went back to work) and she was ready for bed! I usually keep her up a while and had planned on doing this on halloween because I knew she was going to be up past her bedtime but within 20 minutes of getting home, she crawled in her bed and said "night night!" So I put her down and she slept 2 hours. She got up, ate some snacks and wanted to rest on the couch and "watch tv" for a bit. That's always her sign that she's not ready to really get up and play. So we laid on the couch with the mess of the house surrounding us. I'm trying to treasure these Mommy and Madison moments before Riley gets here.

Alan got home by 5 and we decided to take her to Chic-Fil-A for supper before trick or treating. They were giving free kids meals and she loves 'chick chick' from there so I knew she would eat it. We then stopped by Publix because they were having games and giving candy. We walked around the store and let her play. She had a lot of fun! Then we stopped by a family friends house to visit and then headed to Alan's moms neighborhood. We walked her to about 7 houses and her bucket was almost full! She hit a wall after about an hour but kept saying "One more".. She had a blast ringing the doorbell and saying thank you when they gave her candy. On the way home, the firefighters were out in front of the firehouse waving a candy bucket so we stopped. They filled her bucket up with suckers! She had a ball and was wiped out!

    Cutest Minnie Mouse, ever!

Madison's Mickey pumpkin, her tiny pumpkin she just had to have and Riley's middle pumpkin. I had every intention of carving an "R" in Riley's pumpkin but I just never got around to it. At least she had a pumpkin though, right?

    3 Halloweens. What a difference!
    1.5 months, 13.5 months and 25.5 months.

    Sunday Social- November 3

    Sunday Social

    1. What is currently on your wish list?
Funny you ask.. I just blogged about this last week. Go here.

    2. Share a new iPhone, droid, iPad app that you have recently discovered that we all need.
I don't have a ton of apps but I do love Shopkick and Cartwheel for Target. Shopkick is an app where you get points for walking in, scanning items and buying things at certain stores. The points add up and you can redeem those points for gifts/giftcards. I have gotten Restaurant.com and Amazon gift cards and magazine subscriptions. It's real easy! Cartwheel is a coupon app for Target. I have saved a good bit using the app.  If I pick up things that weren't on my list(because who doesn't?), I just go to the app, type in the brand or item in the search bar and add the coupon if there's one. They even have coupons for icees and popcorn-Target musts for a 2 year old!

    3. What is a new fall tv show that you have added to your dvr?
Mom. I have always loved Ana Faris and this show is pretty hilarious! I'm glad it got picked up for the rest of the season!

    4. Share your social media links so we can follow you. (Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.
You can click the links to the right to follow me! I don't do Twitter but I love both Pinterest and Instagram!

      5. What is a tv show, movie, or song that you could watch or listen to over and over and never get tired of?
I can watch Sweet Home Alabama, While You Were Sleeping, Bridesmaids and The Notebook any time they're on.

    Mountain Trip!

We found time to squeeze in a day mountain trip! Our first priority was to find a pumpkin for Madison and Riley. I found a farm that had a train and a llama also and I knew Madison would love the train.
    Boy, was I right :)

All the pumpkins were sold so the guy suggested a place nearby to get some and we went there. We found 2 pumpkins and they had a maze and play area so we let Madison do those for a while. She had a lot of fun playing in the bins of corn. I didn't take my camera so no pictures...

After that, we went to downtown Brevard for their Fall Fest. The kids could trick or treat the stores from 3-4. Madison got a good bit of candy! I will get a better picture of her costume this week but she is Minnie Mouse :) I had to put leggings under her dress. It was freezing!

Five on Friday - Nov 1

    (one)
This week has been refreshing for me. After weeks(or months) of having crazy errands to run during Madison's school, I feel like I've been able to spend some time at home. I've went to bed early a few nights this week and may have taken a nap or two :)

    (two)
I am so much more anxious to have Riley than I was to have Madison at 30 weeks. I don't want to have her now but I'm over the sleepless nights, back pain, cramps, sore feet, being tired, nightmares and people going "Oh?" when I say I have 10 weeks left.

    (three)
I really enjoyed taking Madison trick or treating last night. Everyone just oohhd and ahhd over her and how cute she was. Next Halloween we will have 2 kids with us so I tried to soak in taking our only girl this year.

    (four)
Isn't it amazing how people surprise you(or not surprise you)? With lies, actions or personality traits. I've come across this more and more lately and I'm so over it.  This has nothing to do with my husband, by the way. That is all.

    (five)
Speaking of my husband, I don't tell him enough how much I love and appreciate him. He's the absolute best father that our girls could ever want/need. He works so hard and comes home and he plays with Madison like he's 2 years old too. She loves running around laughing and chasing him and asking "Where'd Daddy go?" if, God forbid, he gets out of her sight. She worships the ground he walks on and he does hers. We have the best relationship and marriage. We just get each other. I love you, babe and I appreciate everything you do for us!

What 5 things do you have on your mind this week?
