Sunday Social - March 29

1. What is your ideal way to relax?
Getting monthly massages. I also enjoy manicures and pedicures but don't get them very often.

2. Where is your favorite place to be?
In the mountains or sitting on the beach when it's not super hot.

3. Who do you consider your biggest role model?
No one really.

4. What does your life look like in 3 years?
Madison will be 5.5 years old and starting kindergarten soon. Riley will be 3 years old. Hopefully that's the year we take them to Disney World. Alan and I will have been married for 10 years!

5. If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?
Everything in my life that I've decided has led me to here. Though I'm not proud of everything I've done, I'm here in this moment because of it all. So I have to say nothing.

6. What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?
Getting married and having 2 amazing, healthy kids.

5 on Friday

{One} I have been bitten by the blog bug thanks to my friend Lauren. She tagged me in a blog post the other day and requested I do the same post with my own answers. I have that one coming for you next week, after a couple of pre-scheduled blogs, including the girl's Easter pics. I just can't find the time to blog and when I do find the time, I have a hard time thinking of stuff to write about. When the girls are sleeping, I'm typically doing chores or exercising. At night, I like spending my time with Alan and not on the computer typing up blogs. I have to find that balance..

{Two} I woke up feeling sentimental today. I do that from time to time. The girls are growing up SO fast. I mean this morning, Madison said a sentence that was about 12 words long, literally. I mean she is having full blown conversations like an adult. She has for a while but it keeps getting better and more clear and she uses correct grammar from time to time. Then this morning she told me she "wanted to go to school by yourself(myself)". Thanks, hun, for bursting my bubble. I reassured her that she's too small to go in by herself but I would leave her by herself after me and Riley dropped her off. She happily said "ok!".. I thought that phase came at 10 years old, not 2.5.
She looks 4 years old here..

-Then there's Riley.  She's only waking once or twice a night now. She's cooing and laughing and smiling constantly. She's 2.5 months already!! It's insane.

{Three} I'm in serious need of lunch/snack and play ideas for Madison. She's very picky. She doesn't eat meat or most veggies. She does love fruit but she's lacking protein. I follow Weelicious and have a Pinterest board for food for her so I'm hoping to get some ideas for healthy meals. I also need play ideas. It's still winter here most of the week(and Spring the other part) so playing outside isn't an option on those cold days. She has an entire bonus room of toys that she's bored with. I do printable worksheets that she seems to enjoy but they are typically 30-50 pages. I do like them because they teach her stuff as well as being fun for her but I can't print that much paper/ink once a week. Also, school lets out in less than 2 months for Summer break. We need structured activities to keep her(and me) sane. All of the playgrounds nearby are too big for her to play on her own and I am not much help wearing a 12lb baby in a sling on my chest. Throw me some ideas!

{Four} I finally found a cardio workout on YouTube that I like. We have DirectTV so I can pull up YouTube and watch videos on the tv. The only catch to the workout is the girl is annoying! She is constantly saying "leave a comment" and calling out her viewers by their screen name. After a couple of times, I decided to mute the tv and play MUSE radio on Itunes radio on my phone. So much nicer!

{Five}Isn't it weird how some days you feel super productive and then others you are dragging your feet all day? I feel super productive today. It's 3:45 and so far I have done all my daily chores, a few things on my to-do list, worked out, posted/scheduled some blogs and both girls are currently down for their naps. I am exhausted and would love to catch a small nap but here I am. Thanks to Madison for sleeping in until 7:45 this morning so I could get 3 of those things done before she even woke up! That's about the only positive to getting up at least an hour before the girls. Well, that and being able to eat non-soggy cereal and drink hot coffee.

Join  DarciAprilNatasha and Christina on the Friday fun. All you have to do is...
1.)  Write  your post about five things you're lovin' this week (or any five things you want to share!). 2.)  Share the logo on your blog and link back. 3.)  Link-up at the bottom of the post so some new readers can check out your five things and say hello!

Cleaning schedule revisited

I mentioned last week that I needed to revisit my cleaning schedule. I posted my original cleaning schedule a couple of years ago and as time went on, more chores needed to be done and then I forgot about my list and then I had another baby. Life is crazy hectic now so I need to get back on track with a schedule. I know it sounds crazy to have to have a schedule to clean. It's not that I need a reminder to clean, our house stays picked up but some things get overlooked. I will glance at this list daily and do what I can, when I can, throughout the day.  I did get asked what our schedule was, so here ya go! An updated version. Interested in starting your own schedule? Just list all of your chores and sort them by days. What you think you can handle per day. Granted I am a SAHM and have all day to get mine done so I cram as much into each day as I think I can handle. Working parents or non-parents may have to set some things to do on the weekend. I want my weekends free, other than the daily chores, so I kept them free.

Monday- Dust entire house. Clean all windows/mirrors. Wash jeans. Water plants.

Tuesday- Mop living room/dining room/hall. Wash colors. Vacuum all carpet.

Wednesday- Bathrooms. Toilet, counters, tubs, shower, sweep and mop. Wash towels. Dust entire house. Wash dog/cat bowls and bath toys.

Thursday- Wash Madison's clothes/bedding, Riley's clothes/bedding and our bedding. Clean both girls' rooms, including dusting and windows.

Friday- Kitchen. Wipe all surfaces including cabinet doors and microwave. Wash colors and whites. Vacuum all carpet. Pick up play room.

*Daily- scoop litterbox(change litter as needed), sweep, load/empty dishwasher.

Sunday Social - March 16

1. How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?...be honest
I have cut back on my phone time during the day while the girls are awake. I would say I spend maybe 2-3 hours total. This includes those middle of the night feedings :)

2. How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?
a few years

3. What is your favorite kind of cupcake?
red velvet. The best one was from this little shop in Blowing Rock, NC called Ohh La La. We go up there once a year and the last time we went it had either moved or closed down. :(

4. Do you eat fast food? If so whats your favorite?
Chic Fil A or Sonic

5. What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?
Fixodent. I am still wearing a partial until my surgery heals in 5-6 months. Can't.wait. to get rid of it!

6. What is the weirdest TV show you watch?
People seem surprised that I watch Teen Mom 2.

5 on Friday - Goings on.

-I finally get my oral surgery next week! I'm so scared but SO excited to finally be on the path to getting rid of this partial. I'm very nervous that the tooth implant will not look right and the periodontist didn't help me much by telling me to really inspect it and look at it naturally, not up close. Ah well. I'm ready to get it done!

-I'm trying to figure out what colors to go with for the girls' playroom. I was thinking primary colors since most toys come in red, blue and yellow. Then I was at Hobby Lobby this week and saw some really cute artwork and decor that was in light pink, greens and blues. I need inspiration because I want to get things started. I want them to have a whole wall of bookshelves or some type of shelving for books. That needs to include a little reading nook with pillows, blankets, etc. I also want an art area that has a table and places for paint, crayons/pencils, paper and a place to hang up their artwork. Suggestions? Websites other than Pinterest?

-I am STILL sore from my surgery. Riley is 9 weeks old. You would think I would be better by now. I asked my OB about it and she said it's very normal since they pull on my muscles a lot. I feel like I've done roughly 6000 situps. It makes exercising pretty hard considering the cardio workouts I do involve mountain climbers and that sort of thing that involves using your belly.

-Riley has slept 8 hours straight every night this week. She goes to bed between 7-8 and has been sleeping until 3 or 4am. Now if she will just drop the 3/4am and the 6am feedings and sleep until 8 like her sister!

-We are having Easter pictures made of the girls on Saturday at a local strawberry farm. The peach trees are in bloom and they look gorgeous in Carrie's pics from last year at the same place. A sweet couple bought them matching dresses a while back and we will use those for pics. So cute!

So What! Wednesday

I haven't done one of these in quite a while. These are things that you are saying SO WHAT! to today!

..if I hung up on the customer service girl earlier. I called with a question and she was being a jerk. If you can't deal with people and their questions, don't work with people. Just sayin'.

.. if I just printed a 93 page St Patrick's Day printable. They are so fun for Madison and they have all the things she's learning now(numbers, letters, tracing/writing, etc)

..if I need a cleaning schedule to keep my house clean. I try to have about 15 things going on at once and about 12 of them get half done. I am going to start using my schedule again so I can keep everything up.

..if I've just now caught on to Jimmy Fallon. He's hilarious! I'm also loving Seth Meyers' late night show. I don't watch every episode of either but I will if there's someone on that I like.

..if I bought 20 lbs of rice to put in Madison's sand/water table(to put inside) and only used less than half of it. I had no idea how much I needed and was afraid that I wasn't going to get enough. Well I solved that problem. I guess rice will be for supper every night until it's all gone. You're welcome, honey.

Sunday Social- Pinterest

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?
I'm a jeans, tee and flats kind of girl. 2 of my favorite colors are gray and green. I love scarves, tank tops and cardigans. I have a ton of great outfits pinned but this one is the most me.

I also am in serious need of a new purse. I am in love with this one(and the other 20 I have pinned)

2. What is your favorite food pin?
I have only made a couple of things on my food board. This is something I need. Red Velvet and cream cheese? Seriously? Yum!

 3. What is your favorite wedding pin?
We were married before Pinterest was cool(or even made?) But I just searched "wedding" and love this.
I love, love, love the dress I wore but I've always loved the dresses with color. This is so fun! I assume you wouldn't really see any of the pink unless you held the skirt up. I love that pop of color!

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?
 I don't have a DIY/craft board since I'm not a crafter or DIYer :)

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?
I don't have a quote/verse/lyric board but I have a board for quotes to put in the girl's yearly photobooks. Books I am seriously behind in making... They all have to do with love, daughters and being parents. I love this because I remember telling Alan this after we brought Madison home from the hospital. That it's amazing how I thought I loved him as much as I could until I saw him with Madison and how much more my love grew for him.

6. Share one more random pin you love.
 Pretty much.

Happy 2 months, Riley!

Riley is a very sweet girl. I have a feeling she's going to be funny just like her sister. She does these belly laughs when she's falling asleep that is the cutest thing ever. She's pretty easy, generally. She doesn't really cry unless she's really tired or hungry and sometimes when she just wants to be held. But when she cries, it's bad. We have to catch her sleepy signs because if she gets too tired, she will cry for an hour. She absolutely loves her sister. If she starts whining, Madison will go love on her and most of the time, she will stop whining. Madison loves on her all the time and she just smiles at her. It's the sweetest thing. We seriously have the 2 sweetest, most beautiful girls! We love you so much, Riley Kate!

-weighs 11 lbs and 23". Was 8.3lbs and 20" at birth

-Wearing 0-3 and 3 months clothes, size 1 diapers and 0-6 month socks.

-Wakes up around 8am and stays awake until about 10am. Sleeps for roughly an hour and is awake until 1pm. This works out well because Madison goes down for a nap around 1:30 or 2 so I try to keep Riley awake until Madison goes down and they nap at the same time.  She then usually sleeps for 2 hours, wakes up to eat and then sleeps until 4 or 5pm(sometimes even 6pm). She then goes down around 7:30 and usually sleeps until 12am. After that, she wakes every 2-3 hours.

-cooing and smiling socially. Holding head up pretty good. I love this phase because you get some emotion!

-Hates tummy time. Sleeps swaddled and on her side. Loves having a blanket over her head to fall asleep(see pic above) I have no idea how we are going transition her to not being swaddled and the blanket thing. Her hands wake her up if she's not swaddled and she is starting to wiggle them out already. Fun phase :)

The shirt I gave Alan when I told him I was pregnant. It fits, 2 months later!
