Day trip to the mountains

Last week, we headed up to Graveyard Fields in Canton, NC. We stopped and at at Pisgah Fish Camp, then made a stop by the fish hatchery before heading up.

On the way home, we stopped by Brevard and had Gelato.

The deck is done!

Alan's mom gave us their table and chairs since they got a new one.

I painted the concrete planters a bright blue and put some colorful daisies in them. If Riley would stop picking them, they would be much prettier ;)
Also added a couple of colorful flowers to the other planters we had.
Put the grill under the covered part for extra protection.
Also put their house and kitchen under the cover so it's not as hot when they want to play in it, which is roughly all day, off and on.
Wish list:

Rugs under one or both tables
(via Costco)

Weatherproof curtains to block the sun.
It sets to the back of our deck, which makes the 5-6pm time frame very bright.

I love the light blue ceiling!

Our plan is to paint the back door black to match the front door. I am in love with this screen door and adding screen doors is on our list to both the front and back doors.

More containers

New lighting. Alan took down our ceiling fan and capped it off. I like these options instead of replacing the ceiling light, until we glass the porch in..

Some type of storage bench for toys/cushions.

I'm almost done with Season 31 of The Real World and I started The O.C. on Hulu and will continue that. Between those, I watch The Bachelorette (Hulu) and Hart of Dixie(Netflix)

Five on Friday

(one) Madison went to her very first Vacation Bible School this week. She says she had fun and already misses her friends(last day was yesterday)

(two) Finally got the weed mat and mulch put down in front of the whole front of the house. Transplanted some flowers and trimmed bushes. This has been a month(or longer) long project but finally got it done. Over the next couple of months we will get the sides of the house done and a rock border added to the left/front and left sides of the house to match the front and right sides.

Our hydrangea is finally blooming after having it 7 or 8 years! It's purple!

Will add a border on the inside of the driveway at the mulch

(three) This coming week, I have big plans to finish off some things on our to-do list! There are currently 16 things on there and I've highlighted 4 of them. This list is ongoing. I am hoping to knock out another 3 or 4 by next weekend. This includes finishing the deck stain, rearranging the deck furniture and working on the girls' baby books and yearly photo books. Being productive after the girls go the bed is really hard when all I want to do is lay down and watch tv :|

(four) Looking forward to a 5 night vacation soon. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, which includes a day at Dollywood and a day at Splash Country! This area has quickly become our favorite vacation spot with the kids. So many day activities to do. We go for 8 nights later in the year!

(five) This Summer has really flown by so far! The girls have been out of school for 3 weeks already. They are finally at the ages where they will play together! Riley is starting to pretend play and her and Madison will chatter and play in their house or kitchen for a good hour or so. Potty training is going great! Riley is doing really well with it! A few accidents here and there(while she's playing or at night) but she pretty much has it down! She does refuse to sit on a 'big' potty so we have to get that worked out before vacation! We may be that parent that carries the little potty into the parks. No shame, though!
