Week in Photos

In the play room and Riley just kept watching Madison play. She kept smiling and laughing. She can not wait until they can play together!

Painted her toenail and fingernails while Riley was napping.
Also, only my child would want a jacket on in 80* weather.

I made some sidewalk paint from corn starch, water and food coloring and we painted the driveway.
The only way I can get a few minutes of cardio in is to get Madison involved.. Here she is doing frogger.
Everybody on the porch! Madison played with her buggy, Riley played in her bouncer and I soaked in some Vitamin D.

Went to story and play time at the library today. Checked out 22 books and when I offered her a juice box, she said "Wait! I have to finish my book first!" And she did.. She read through all 22 books page by page.

Table Rock Beach

Madison's been asking to go to the beach or go swimming just about everyday for the last month. When we went to Lake Lure a couple of weeks ago, she wanted to get in the water so bad she couldn't stand it! Wading in it wasn't enough! So yesterday we all went to Table Rock, SC. There's a lake there and they have made a small 'beach'. When we got there, Alan wanted to scout things out before we all got out. He came back to the car and said they were making everyone get off the beach due to bad weather coming in. We walked to the playground and let Madison play. She was able to play about 15 minutes before it started drizzling. We all walked back to the car and waited it out for the few minutes that it lasted. I stayed in the car with Riley while Alan took Madison back to the playground. They headed back our way and around 3:10, they opened the beach back up.

We got lucky and got the shade from the Lifeguard's umbrella... Alan and Madison headed for the water

She finally knocked out after fighting it for a while!

5 on Friday

(one) Madison's last day of school is next week. Her regular school ends today but they have an extra 4 days of Summer Camp that we are sending her to. It won't be with her regular teachers and there will be a lot less kids and different activities. She will have fun. I'm a little worried about her getting bored this Summer. I feel like I need some structured activities. Painting one day, library one day, park one day.. that kind of thing.  Maybe even a structured day. An hour of this, hour of that.. whatever. I need to print some craft projects from my ever growing Toddler Activities board from Pinterest. If your kids are off for Summer from preschool, what are your plans? I need toddler friendly activities that I can bring my 4 month old to do as well.

(two) On that note, school being over makes me sad. Madison will be turning 3 two weeks after school starts this year. THREE!!!!?? I see her growing leaps and bounds week after week. She has learned so  much this year. From recognizing letters and numbers to counting to almost 15. She loves singing and painting and has recently started pretending, which is so fun to watch. She has this great imagination. Anyways, school ending means Madison is getting older. Because that wouldn't happen if she wasn't in school, right? Sigh.

(three) Parenthood. I've talked about it before. If you don't watch it, WATCH IT! I thought I cried a lot during the first 3 seasons. Man, this 4th season is a real tearjerker! Wow!

(four) I've gotten bit by an organizing bug. I need to organize the girls' photo albums, baby books, their pregnancy books, type out some recipes and organize my recipe binders. Now I just need the time to do it all.

(five) We've had a lot of tractors int he neighborhood lately. We are surrounded by old(and current) cow pastures. They've been bailing and plowing and planting and fertilizing one of the fields. It's sort of peaceful coming home to tractors all around. Is that weird?

Mother's Day 2014

Alan gave me great cards from he and the girls and I was able to sleep in until 9! We decided to ride to Lake Lure, NC around 11:30. It was about 80 degrees and the Lake was very crowded. We ate lunch at the Smokehouse and then headed to the playground beside the lake.

After she played a few minutes, we wanted to let her get in the water, so we walk to a little area where kids are swimming. The water was as cold as ice but she didn't hesitate to get in! She was even asking for her swim suit!

Riley just hung out in the stroller in the shade.

On the way home, we stopped to see my mom and stepdad who were staying close by. Madison had fun throwing rocks into the river with her Grandma.

I am blessed beyond measure to be these 2 girls' mom. God gave us the funniest, smartest, sweetest, prettiest girls in the world. I love seeing the love between them grow every day. I love how Madison is constantly loving on Riley and how Riley just lets her do whatever she wants to her and how she just smiles at her when she's around. I'm a pretty lucky mom!

Sunday Social-tv shows

Sorry for no pictures. I did this blog on my phone.

1. What was your favorite TGIF show? All of them! From Step by Step to Fresh Prince! I watched all 4 or 5 hours.
2. What was your favorite Saturday morning TV show? Saved by the Bell, of course!

3. Mickey Mouse Club or Kids Incorporated.? I didn't watch either.

4. Zack Morris or AC Slater? Zach. Slater was too macho and cocky for me.

5. Which show would you love to see remade? (For example, Boy Meets World is back as Girl Meets World) Full House! Before we got rid of satellite, you would find me watching the old shows all the time!

Happy 4 months, Riley!

She is gaining more and more personality. She is very sensitive yet very happy. She has huge smiles and smiles for strangers or people that talk to her. At her checkup Tuesday, the Doctor told her she was "cute" and she started screaming. The Dr said "aww I meant beautiful" and she stopped crying. Then a few minutes later she called her "pretty" and she cried again and didn't stop until the Dr called her "gorgeous".. Oh boy.
The love for Madison is really starting to show even more. She will let Madison lay all over her and squish her cheeks. Madison forces toys into Riley's hands and she will just let her do it all. If Riley can't see Madison but she hears her, she will move her head around until she finds her. She smiles at her all the time. It's so sweet! We love you so much, Riley!

-Took her swaddle away. It took her a few days to stop swinging her arms around but now sleeps great.

-started sleeping through the night a few weeks ago. She goes down around 7pm, wakes at 6am, eats and sleeps until at least 8am. Is still napping an hour in the morning and 2-4 hours in the afternoon.

-Trying so hard to roll back to belly

Riley doesn't look like she cared for it but she was laughing before I took video.

Pictures during her 3rd month

Her hair is not red like this. This was taken in her room.
Her hot pink curtains give everything a red tint :)
She also loves that bear. It has to be with her if she's trying to fall asleep.

Riley's baptism

Riley was baptized on April 27, 2014. It went great and even with a toddler running back and forth, it was a beautiful day!

With my mom and stepdad
