Charlotte Motor Speedway Lights

We went by Charlotte Motor Speedway last week to see the lights.

Making s'mores

Some recommendations..
-Take plenty of cash. The building in the infield is full of vendors like Orgami Owl, Scentsy, Essential Oils, etc(which I still don't understand). They had a station to make ornaments(that you gave donations to do) and pictures with Santa which cost. They had some food vendors like funnel cakes, hot dogs, philly cheese steaks, etc. Outside, there was a free petting zoo(the food cost), pony rides, a carnival ride, train ride and you could get marsmallow or s'mores kits(all for fees).

-Allow 2-3 hours on a week night. It was apparently double or triple that on a weekend night. We went on a Thursday. There was no line to get in and it only took us roughly 8 minutes to ride on the track itself. The infield lights took a while because of traffic and the Village takes some time to enjoy.

It was fun but it's not something we would do every year. Definitely not worth a drive to visit unless you are already close by, but it was fun to do once.

Day in the Life.. Wednesday, December 17

6:30am- alarm goes off and I catch up on Facebook, text Alan and Lauren(her son has been sick so I was checking in, not that texting at 6:30 hasn't happened before 😂). Around 6:50, I get up, shower and get ready for the day. I let Wilma out and feed her.

7:30am- fix my coffee and pop a bagel in the toaster oven. I get the girl's breakfast ready while it's toasting. . If food isn't ready when they get up, it's not good. Obviously I am not Weelicious, but they will eat it. After my bagel is ready, I put peanut butter on it, turn on Today and update this blog.

8:30- the girls got up before 8 and are eating. While they eat, I empty the dishwasher and load it up again. I get both girls dressed and teeth brushed.

12pm- Madison has been dropped off at school. I swing by Krispy Kreme to get coffee and donuts and me and Riley go visit a friend who has a 2 week old girl at home. We visit until time for me to go pick up Madison, who gets out early from preschool since it's her last day until January. I pick up M, get gas, we get home and I put Riley to nap and give Madison a snack. I start the dishwasher and start a load of clothes in the washer. M watches Disney Junior while I eat lunch(leftover spaghetti). I boot up my computer to update this blog, read blogs, Facebook and print ideas for cupcakes for Rileys party.

1:15pm- Madison asked for me to build a fort so I do and she plays while I'm eating and on my laptop. Riley is awake and I fix them both lunch. Carrots with ranch(for M), ham, cheese and Puffs for them both. They eat while I make my afternoon cup of coffee and straighten the kitchen.

2:30pm- after Riley eats, she's a mess.

I need to give them a bath early anyway since we have dinner plans with Alan's work, so I start the water, put them in and let them play a while. I get Riley out and dressed while M plays a bit longer. I then get M out, dressed and dry her hair. Then we go upstairs to play a few minutes before nap. Riley mostly crawls from toy to tot while Madison glues stuff to a plate.

4:00pm- I laid Riley down and then I lay with Madison. She finally falls asleep and Riley is still up rolling around. I sneak out of the room and get a shower after putting up a load of clothes. I get ready for our dinner party tonight.

5:30pm- I have gotten ready and Riley and Madison are awake and Alan's mom just got here. She will stay with the girls while we are gone. We go up to the playroom and play while waiting on Alan, who gets home a few minutes later. He showers while we are upstairs.

9:30pm- We went to the party which was at the local Art Museum. It is mostly sales people and a few others from 'home base'. We chit chat, eat and they give out awards to the Sales Reps. We leave around 8:30 and are home around 9. His mom put Riley to bed and her and Madison are in the playroom playing. We told her to keep her awake until we got home. She leaves and we put Madison to bed by 10. We are in bed by 11 or so.

Madison's Christmas party

Madison's preschool had their party today. She had those cute Santa's hat brownie/strawberry, a snowman cheesestick and pretzels with chocolate. The parents went in and bought the class 3 great presents for the kids to play with. Her last day is this week until January. I need to get started on ideas of stuff to keep her happy and busy!

Riley enjoyed the rocking chair while Madison ate!

Thanksgiving tree trip

Madison's school had their Feast on Monday

We left for our Annual tree trip to Boone, NC on Tuesday. Alan was watching the weather, and they were calling for lots of snow on Wednesday, our original day we had planned to leave. We left around 1:30 and got there and unpacked.

Glad we did because we woke up to this!
Madison liked playing with the snow inside. Alan would scoop some in a bowl and she would use her 'people' and play in it for a while.

On Saturday, we decided to go snow tubing at Hawk's Nest. Both Alan and I bought tickets so we could alternate with Madison on the tube while the other had Riley. Naturally, Alan didn't get any pictures of me with Madison. She had a lot of fun when actually tubing. She complained she was cold a lot though.

Happy 11 months, Riley!

In her 10th month, she....

 Pulled up onto the stairs!
I walked to the garage and came back to this!

She lost her last pacifier at the mall and we decided not buy her anymore and to wean her from it. We were out pretty late that night so she was exhausted by the time she got home that she just passed out. The next day for nap, she pitched a fit! She cried a while and we got her up. I nursed her to comfort her and put her back down and she cried a bit more and then finally fell asleep. Today, the 2nd day, she didn't do great for her first nap. After a bit of crying, I thawed some frozen milk and fed her from a bottle(I'm weaning her nursing sessions) and she cried a few minutes and fell asleep. She is currently down for her 2nd nap and she's whining on and off. No major crying like before, yet.

That same night she lost her paci, we decided to pierce her ears! We had talked about it a while but we never did do it.. Here's a pic right after. All the purple is the marker. The earrings are clear crystals. She looks so different!

9-12 or 12 months clothes. Size 1 shoes. Size 3 diapers(size 4 at night) Not sure of her weight. I would guess around 17.5 lbs.

Bedtime by 7pm. Sleeps all night until anywhere between 7-8am. Wakes up and nurses. Snack(puffs, fruit, pretzels) at 9:30, naps 1-2 hours after snack.

We are busy planning her 1st Birthday party this year! It will be at our house on January 10. We can't decide what time yet but invites will be out before Christmas so be on the look out!

Plays peek-a-boo by putting her hands near her eyes or on her head.

LOVES the cats and dogs. Loves crawling up to them and going "ah!"

Time to time, she will sit up and just stare in the camera monitor.. Creepy yet funny.

Dirty girl playing with dolls

She often sits up and then lays her head down and falls asleep this way. It can't be comfortable...

She found her tongue this month!

Child loves suckers

Just hanging out..

Riley is still a very content, laid back, happy, funny girl. She keeps this intrigued look on her face that people always comment on. She loves Madison with everything she has. She loves playing with her and I'm anxious for when she can walk and they can actually play around together. These 11 months have flown by quicker than any 11 months ever has. I can't believe she's almost a year old! We love you, sweet, beautiful girl!
