Rice sensory bin

This started out as a bin like the others but quickly became a huge mess so I moved it into her sand table.

I threw in some character figurines and some scoops.

It's still a mess but she likes to play in it. We just pick up/vacuum the rice on the floor.

Meet Wilma

Wilma was originally our neighbor's dog and her and their other dog free roamed the neighborhood. Anytime we were outside, they were over here. Sadly, their other dog was very territorial and kept attacking Wilma. We witnessed 2 fights and I don't wish that on anyone. One day they had enough and was going to get rid of Wilma. We weren't looking to get another dog but we had grown so attached to her that we decided to make her ours. We didn't want to mess Micki and Toby's relationship up by throwing Wilma in the mix and putting her in the fence, so we decided to make her a house dog.

That's Wilma smiling. It's so funny. You can leave the room for a few minutes and return and she smiles like she hasn't seen you all day. Wilma has had a pretty rough life too. She was outside in August 2011 and a truck pulling a trailer went down the road. Something struck and she decided to chase it, clipping the trailer and breaking her leg. You can read the whole story here, with updates here and here. We are happy to say that she's fully healed and you'd never know she had a rod in her leg for 14 weeks!

She loves Alan. I mean, if she was a human, she'd want to marry him. She follows him around and if he's in the house and she can't find him, she goes nuts running from room to room. This dog loves to play and swim. She loves to ride and loves hiking! She is a nature dog and loves rolling around and wandering around sniffing every blade of grass.

She's had to get some battle wounds from fighting removed and she has this stupid eye allergy that she gets every year(which we just treated again). Here lately, she's wore her E-collar more than not and her hair is falling out of her leg-hopefully due to the medicine for her eye.

Movies watched lately

I accidentally Published this a while back. I've since added to the list and added my reviews.

Hope Springs-Decent.
Margaret-Sad but really kind of stressful! The lead actor is very emotional.
Dragonfly-Pretty good!
The Five Year Engagement - pretty boring.

Batman Dark Knight Rises - good
The Amazing Spiderman -Pretty good! I liked this one the most of them all.
Taken 2- pretty good. The 2nd movies are never as good as the first but it was good and it left the end open to have a 3rd.

We actually went to the movies for our Valentine's date and we saw Identity Thief. It was pretty funny. I love Melissa McCarthy.

Instagram Friday
I haven't had a drink in months and months. This was called Love Martini at The Melting Pot. I had two. SO good. They even cut the strawberries like hearts. YUM!

The snow on Saturday. Phone picture.

Breakfast with Alan before picking M up on Sunday

I've been trying to get up before M lately. It helps me to get ready and have hot coffee before she gets up. While I hate getting up at 7:30, those extra 30 minutes or more feel like 2 hours. This morning I was painting my nails at 8am. Life of a mom.

Got another BzzKit from BzzAgent! I also received another invite to a shampoo kit! They give you free products to try and you review/blog/talk about them. Simple for free stuff!

Color of the week-Red

I thought trying to incorporate a certain color per week would be fun and hopefully try to familiarize M with colors somewhat.

Last weeks color was RED.

We incorporated bibs and clothes. Food like strawberries and yogurt.

She did some Valentines Day crafts and coloring pages

We pointed out red anytime we saw it and asked "Where's red?" And "Do you see the color red?" often.

Books we read this week were;
Red is Best by Kathy Stinson
The Little Red Pen by Janet Stevens
The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge by Hildegarde Swift
Llama llama red pajama by Anna Dewdney
Ned's New Home by Kevin Tseng
Red Sled by Patricia Thomas
Red Sled by Lita Judge
Holly's Red Boots by Francesca Chessa

Meet Toby

We got Toby from the Humane Society when we moved to where we currently live in 2008. We wanted Micki to have a friend and he seemed to be a perfect match for her. He is a lab/shephard mix and is now about 6 or 7 years old.
He is a very loving dog. He loves to be petted and to just sit there and let you pet him. However, he hates Madison. I can't take her on the porch or within his line of sight because he barks his head off! A vicious bark, not a curious bark. I'm not sure why he doesn't care for her but he makes it known that he doesn't!

He never sits down and constantly goes back and forth. He's a very busy dog.

You can tell that he loves Micki. She loves to just flop down on him and chew his ears and he just lets her. The love to lay together in the sun. I love those freckles on his nose :)

Toby had to have a couple of teeth pulled last summer and he was a trooper! He has the worst teeth! He's the only dog I've known that won't chew on bones.

Snow Day!

We had a beautiful snow on Saturday. They were calling for it and all of my friends on Facebook were talking about how it was snowing all around us, but not at our house. Then around 3:00, it started pouring! I never remember it snowing that hard before. It made it hard to get pictures because flakes kept hitting my lens and it kept fogging up but this is what I got. Madison loved it!

Living in the South means shorts in the snow...

See those huge flakes?

Why does she look 4 years old here?

Valentine's Goodies

We don't usually buy each other gifts, but instead we go out to eat at a nice place. We do get each other cards :) We did buy Madison a few things though.

Alan got me and M the hearts. She got her very first Vday card from her friend, P. The button was in her card and she wore it out for a bit Thursday and then she opened the other card that evening.

We also got her a Dora coloring book and a Thomas the Train book with flashlight/sound handheld thing. She carried that flashlight around the entire day.

Her cards(minus one)

She helped me make homemade sugar cookies Wednesday night but I didn't bake them until after she went to bed so I gave her a small one after her lunch. She loved it :)

..and of course, holding a book.

This has been her favorite book this week. Nevermind it's a Christmas book. She loves the flaps in it and pointing out the cat, mouse and balls.

We decided to go to a local Italian place for a good salad and we will go out, just me and him, this weekend.

I am so blessed to have 2 amazing Valentines and I love them both with all my heart!

-We registered Madison for weekday school at a church for 3 days a week for 3 hours each day, starting in August. We should find out soon if she gets accepted!

-Not much crappies this week. It's been a good week.

Instagram Friday
(folllow me here)

Goldfish grin

Flock of Seafulls(ha!)

This was hilarious.. She would throw something outside of her door, close the door then open it, throw something else out, then repeat. She did this until she had about 15 things in the hall. Then she started 'putting them back'. It was really cute :)

M and her friend P at the library. They were so cute hugging and kissing each other. P is a girl which is why this is posted ;)
