Madison's 4 month checkup!

Today was her 4 month checkup and shots. We were both anxious to see how much she had grown! Here are her stats:

Weight - 14.8 lbs (8.1 lbs at birth)
Length - 25 1/4" (20 3/4" at birth)
Head Circumference - 16.3" (13.78" at 1 week old)

The doctor said she looked perfect and commented on how beautiful she was. Watching her get her 3 shots is torture for us parents! Both of us teared up when she started crying. By the time the nurse had put all of her bandaides on, she had stopped crying. She definitely has my pain tolerance! So thankful we have such a healthy girl!

Christmas 2011

This was a special Christmas for us for obvious reasons! Even though she's only right at 4 months, we wanted her to have some new toys and books. When we went shopping, we quickly realized that they don't make many toys for babies under 6 months. We did manage to find her this stuff:

Some soft ABC blocks, a cookie monster stuffed animal, a Sing-A-ma-Jig, Spongebob pillow pet, a couple of rattles, a ball she can grip that rattles and a ton of books.

And here are a ton of pictures!

Us with her Spongebob Pillow Pet

Cookie Monster.
She does the funniest thing when she's eating. If you take her bottle away, after you put it back in,
she goes "nom nom nom" just like cookie monster. It's so cute!

With her daddy and the cute bear her PaPaw and Nana gave her- and Wilma
in the background with her Christmas bone.

With one of her blocks.

Hanging out with her books and Spongebob

Where's the baby?!

Loving her ball! Easy to grip!

She's so full of expressions!

This is one of my favorite looks! She will lean her head forward and look at you
under her top eyelashes. Then she will break out into a huge smile! It's like she's saying "Seriously?"

Hey, Beautiful!

So silly!

She loves her Sophie that her Nimmie gave her!

Her Uncle William gave her her very first Cubs hat. She's way too cool now!

On top of all of those toys she got some money, a dog and reindeer that lights up and sings, a screen mobile for her crib that projects on the ceiling, a cute cupcake trinket box with her initial on it, a really soft bath towel, a teddy bear, a ball easy enough for her to grip, a gold bracelet that was her Nimmie's when she was a little girl and I know I'm forgetting something but it's been a few days and my memory is horrible! Thanks everyone for her gifts! She loves them all!

Dear Madison...

Today is a very special day. 1 year ago today, after 2 1/2 years of trying, your daddy and I found out that I was pregnant with you! I had even asked your daddy for a baby when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Little did we know, you are already in my tummy! It was such an emotional time. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw this

I took 4 tests that night to prove each one before wasn't faulty! And then ended up taking around 10 tests for the first month to make sure I was still pregnant. I was so paranoid! We wanted you so bad and I did everything I could to make sure you were healthy!

Then at 7 weeks, 5 days we were able to see you for the first time! It's amazing what a little bean shaped blob with a fluttery heartbeat will do! We both cried like babies! We were thrilled when the doctor told us everything looked great!

This is a precious shot of you waving, taken in my 21st week of pregnancy. This is the day we found out you were a girl! You were so active that day and nothing has changed!

Here you are at 38 weeks 6 days. The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to see what you were measuring.
They said you were 7 lbs 15 oz! We were floored by that since I had another week until my due date! It was probably all those cupcakes I had! Then they did a 4D ultrasound to show us your beautiful face! Here come the waterworks again!  We were amazed at how beautiful you were(and are!) We love this picture of you with you rubbing your eyes. You must have been sleepy since you still do this.

This shirt was very fitting. This is the first shirt we bought you when we found out I was pregnant and you wore it quite a few times around this Christmas. You were and always will be our best gift ever!

I also bought this right after I found out I was pregnant. I'm glad you were a girl since a Cinderella quote would look kind of silly in a boy's room :) I think I knew you were a girl from the very beginning! You are our little miracle!

And here you are with us on Christmas Eve! 15 weeks 4 days old!
Time has flown by and you are getting so big!

I was so lucky to have such a perfect pregnancy! I never had any sickness or problems. I enjoyed being pregnant so much and loved when people asked me when I was due or what I was having! I loved feeling you kick around and loved when you got the hiccups!

You have changed mine and your daddy's life! We love you more than you will ever know! We love spending time with you and love making you laugh. It's obvious that you are a daddy's girl but that's okay, I knew you would be. I can try to make you smile for 10 minutes and get nothing but as soon as he walks up and looks at you, you smile the biggest smile! You are lucky to have such a wonderful daddy that loves playing with you, reading to you and blowing raspberries on your tummy every time he changes your diaper. I always hear you 2 laughing and squealing and I hear you talking to him when he's being silly! It melts my heart to see you 2 together and I know when you grow up, ya'll will have such a special bond!  You mean so much to us and we are so blessed to have you in our life! You are such a beautiful little girl!
We love you, sunshine!

Christmas Eve at DSBG

After we left my mom's house on Christmas Eve, we decided to take Madison to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden - the place we got married 5 years ago. We went last year and knew Madi would love looking at all the lights! Plus we wanted her to see where her mommy and daddy started their amazing marriage!

This is going into DSBG

This was in Santa's room. He wasn't there that night but the tree was gorgeous!

I love the way trees look with lights on them like this

How her eyes looked the entire night! She was so alert!

Happy 3 Months Madison!

Gosh how time is flying by! She gets bigger by the minute! She is smiling a lot more now. She likes watching cartoons too! We will put on some cartoons so we can eat breakfast or supper at the table and she will sit and watch them and laugh at them! It's so cute!

She is still going to bed around 7-8 but is getting up at roughly 11pm-12am, 4am and 6am and then up for the day around 8-9am. She is also napping (if you want to call 20 minute cat naps naps, then okay) at 11am, 1pm and then 5pm.

November 10 - She started 'talking' today. She coos over and over and it's so cute! Sounds like a pigeon! She even responds back if you do it to her.

November 16 - Put her in her Bumbo seat for the first time. Her head is still a bit wobbly but I wanted to see how she liked it. The second I put her in it, she started laughing, smiling and looking around the room! She loved it! I have to keep her head steady but I will let her sit in it for a few minutes every day now. I think she really enjoys seeing stuff from a different angle!

November 20 - We had Christmas pictures made today!

November 21 -Rolled over from belly to back for the first time!

November 27 - Her first Christmas tree trip. Read about it here.

November 29 - Helped decorate the tree and her first Dickens of a Christmas. Read about the trip here.

December 3 - Picture with Santa.

She is gripping toys a lot better now.. And she's learned how to pinch! Ouch those baby pinches hurt!

She is consistently eating 7 oz every 3-4 hours during the day and when she gets up at night. She is weighing roughly 13 lbs now. Still in 0-3 months and 3 months clothes and wearing some 3-6 month pajamas since she's so long! We have also moved up to Size 2 diapers! I have taken her out a lot more this month.. Grocery shopping, shopping, visiting friends and she loves riding in the car. She is typically asleep within 10 minutes and if I'm shopping, she will stay asleep the entire time! One day I was gone 3 hours and she slept the whole time! She also seems really interested when we read to her. She likes looking at the pictures and sometimes will talk back! She's so cute! We love her so much! :) Happy 3 months, Beautiful!

Dickens of a Christmas

So we decided to take her this year to see how she would like it. We met her Nimmie and Papa there. We found out on our tree trip that she loves being carried in the sling carrier. Since we knew it would be crowded and going in and out of stores with the stroller would be a pain, we put her in the carrier. It was freezing but she didn't mind! We had her wearing 2 layers with a hat and hood and a blanket wrapped around her! We went to eat beforehand and she slept the whole time so we weren't sure if she would even be awake to see all the lights and people. She woke up when we took her out and seemed amazed at everything! Here are pics from the night..

 When we first got there

 Still sleepy!

We switched her up!

 Amazed by the tree lights!
 She even met Santa!
Another great memory to add with our little pumpkin!
