Madison's Christmas party

Madison's preschool had their party today. She had those cute Santa's hat brownie/strawberry, a snowman cheesestick and pretzels with chocolate. The parents went in and bought the class 3 great presents for the kids to play with. Her last day is this week until January. I need to get started on ideas of stuff to keep her happy and busy!

Riley enjoyed the rocking chair while Madison ate!

Madison's first day in 2 year old Pre-K

Madison's first day back was yesterday. She's in a new class with new teachers but 3 of her friends from last year are in her current class so I think that helps!

She slept in our bed the night before. She's had lots of trouble falling to sleep easily lately.
I treated her to breakfast in bed while watching cartoons(and while I got ready!)

 After school slushie!

What a difference a year makes! She looks like a baby last year!

Everybody around here is enjoying school again! Madison is loving the structured play and learning. She's coming home singing and talking about her friends. I have been interacting with moms I haven't seen over the summer break. I am getting back in the groove of exercising, spending one on one time with Riley, cleaning and doing other things while she's gone so I have more time to spend with them in the afternoon. I am now able to run errands easier(taking 2 kids to shop is impossible). Madison just recently gave up naps which means earlier bedtime. She has cried at bedtime lately and has ended up in our bed.. Her first day back, after whining just a little, I gave her a sticker sheet. 10 minutes later, she was knocked out asleep! Tonight she put up a fight for a few minutes but about 20 minutes later, she's passed out!

People have asked if we are putting Riley in. They do accept babies her age but we are going to keep her home and either let her start going after her birthday in January for the remainder of the school year(if there's room) or just let her start in August next year. We haven't decided yet. This allows me some one on one time with her during her learning months. Sitting, talking, crawling, standing, walking.. All the big milestones!

Madisons first day of Weekday School

A better look at her sign.

Wednesday was her first day.

A sticker before going to her classroom

She went in without a fuss. Daddy, on the other hand, had a tough time. One of the many reasons I love him is his emotional side :) Madison just laid her head on his shoulder and let him have his moment. He handed her over to the teacher and she didn't even think about crying!

Afterward there was a parent orientation where they went over some rules and things they do. I then checked my Facebook to see this from her teacher. She loves that buggy!
We come home and Alan went running while I chop and freeze some onions and bell peppers and chopped oranges and bananas. Alan then lays down and I clean out my neglected car. I get another picture from her teacher. Snack time and my daughter is dancing to the music :)

Her teachers said she had a great day and was very polite, using "Please" and "Thank You". When I picked her up, her class was on the playground. She was sitting in the sandbox with a teacher, talking her ear off. She saw me, smiled and turned back around to finish talking. I picked her up and she said "Down, slide" and walked over to the slide to play. That's a good sign!

I brought her a slushie as a 1st day treat and she sucked it down!
We went home, ate lunch, had a bath and she took a 2 hour nap! She kept talking about swinging and sliding. I hope she continues to love it!

One goal down!

2) I took some pictures of my niece and her fiance Saturday, who are expecting a son in February. I have no idea what I am doing, so I just point and shoot. This was the one of many things that has made me really look into taking classes or at least reading the book on how to use my camera. The local college has Photography classes that start in February. I am really nervous about the possibility of taking classes. I feel like it's my first day of school! This would also involve taking a Photoshop course and getting a new computer and Photoshop.

Got one goal done! I signed up for the class! I am super nervous about this for some reason. At least an old high school friend is taking this course too so I will at least have a familiar face and someone to talk with and sit next to! Not to mention walk out with and follow home since the class isn't over until late.. I also don't like leaving Alan and Madison for 3 hours.. Even though Madi goes to bed between 7-7:30 most nights and will be fast asleep by the time I get home, I like being a part of her bedtime routine..

As Alan and I discussed, not only will this give me the knowledge of how to use my camera properly, it may also open a door for a business at some point and it will also help me interact with adults, which will help with my goal #1 of helping my attitude by committing and following through with something.
