Father's Day recap

I decided to make plans for Alan to take Madison and Wilma hiking in the mountains. We haven't been in years and Wilma hasn't really gotten to play in water since before her accident. We started the morning by getting breakfast at a local place that we had not been to but I had heard good things about. It's a French inspired restaurant and it was yummy! We will definitely go back! We left there and headed to Graveyard Fields, which is in Pisgah National Forest. We stopped by Subway and got subs to take up to eat before going out.

She started getting fussy and this rock did the trick!

Wilma was so funny. We would throw a rock the size of the one Madison is holding in the
picture above and she would bring back these huge rocks

It started raining and Madison was crying because she had gotten tired and the rain was cold.
I looked at her on the way out(we were high tailing it!) and her nose had been scratched :(
We thought it may have been by the rock she was holding but....

..on the way home the scratches on her cheek popped up. I think she got swiped by a branch :(
She's a tough cookie though!

Here it is this morning.. Looks much better after putting neosporin on it before bed last night.

We stopped by downtown Hendersonville to walk around and get some ice cream before heading home. The city is so dog friendly that some of the stores leave out water bowls for the dogs.

I think this was a much needed trip for all of us! Wilma hasn't much budged since getting home last night and it's always nice for us to get away to the mountains. Alan said he had a great day. I just wish it didn't rain so we could have hung out a bit more but at least we were able to be there a couple of hours. Happy Father's Day to Alan. He's the best daddy in the world and Madison is so lucky to have him! I am so lucky that he shows our little girl what love is and how a man should treat a lady. He's such a hands on dad and I am so grateful for that. We love you babe!
