So I decided to download the podcast S-Town and immediately got sucked in! I listened to it in less than 24 hours! It was SO interesting! It has some adult content in it so be warned. S-town doesn't stand for 'sunshine' ;) It's based on a true story!
John despises his Alabama town and decides to do something about it. He asks
a reporter to investigate the son of a wealthy family who’s allegedly
been bragging that he got away with murder. But then someone else ends
up dead,
sparking a nasty feud, a hunt for hidden treasure, and an
unearthing of the mysteries of one man’s life.
From there, I went to Serial Season One
This explores the story of Adnan Syed, who may have been wrongly
convicted in 1999 of killing Hae Min Lee, Syed's ex-girlfriend who was a
senior at Baltimore County's Woodlawn High School. She disappeared in
January 1999. Serial's investigative team "follows up on long-dormant leads, rechecks alibis, and questions assumptions." Host Sarah Koenig reveals that the story is in process and that she doesn't know how it will end.
..and then on to Season Two.
In the middle of the night, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl grabs a notebook, snacks,
water, some cash. Then he quietly slips off a remote U.S. Army outpost
in eastern Afghanistan and into the dark, open desert. About 20 minutes
later, it occurs to him: he’s in over his head.
Season 2 for me started out very slow but got a lot more interesting as it went on.
From there, I listened to Up & Vanished
'UP AND VANISHED' IS
AN INVESTIGATIVE PODCAST THAT EXPLORES THE UNSOLVED DISAPPEARANCE OF
GEORGIA BEAUTY QUEEN AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER, TARA GRINSTEAD, AN
11-YEAR-OLD MYSTERY THAT IS THE LARGEST CASE FILE IN GEORGIA’S HISTORY.
FOLLOW ALONG AS HOST PAYNE LINDSEY, A DOCUMENTARIAN TURNED AMATEUR
INVESTIGATOR, EXAMINES OLD CASE EVIDENCE, RE-INTERVIEWS PERSONS OF
INTEREST, AND UNCOVERS NEW LEADS, WHILE GUIDING LISTENERS THROUGH HIS
REAL TIME INVESTIGATION. A RECENT BREAK IN THE CASE MAY HAVE GIVEN US
MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWER, AND THE MAIN QUESTION STILL REMAINS...
This podcast is ongoing and updates weekly but I'm caught up for now... This one is pretty interesting and I can't wait to see how it unfolds!
Now, I'm jumping between these:
In 1972, five-year-old Adrien McNaughton vanished while on a family
fishing trip in Eastern Ontario. Despite an intensive search and
investigation, no sign of Adrien was found, no clue as to where he might
be. The case has hung over the area like a dark mass ever since,
especially in the small town of Arnprior, where the McNaughton family
lived.
I think we all remember this story!
I have a super long list of podcasts I'm listening to and am subscribed to many others.. I will finish up TCG and SKS before moving on and will keep this updated. I would love any other recommendations for podcasts!
