Sunday Social - March 29

1. What is your ideal way to relax?

Getting monthly massages. I also enjoy manicures and pedicures but don't get them very often.

2. Where is your favorite place to be?

In the mountains or sitting on the beach when it's not super hot.

3. Who do you consider your biggest role model?

No one really.

4. What does your life look like in 3 years?

Madison will be 5.5 years old and starting kindergarten soon. Riley will be 3 years old. Hopefully that's the year we take them to Disney World. Alan and I will have been married for 10 years! 

5. If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?

Everything in my life that I've decided has led me to here. Though I'm not proud of everything I've done, I'm here in this moment because of it all. So I have to say nothing. 

6. What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?

Getting married and having 2 amazing, healthy kids.

Sunday Social - March 16

1. How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?...be honest
I have cut back on my phone time during the day while the girls are awake. I would say I spend maybe 2-3 hours total. This includes those middle of the night feedings :)

2. How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?
a few years
 

3. What is your favorite kind of cupcake?
red velvet. The best one was from this little shop in Blowing Rock, NC called Ohh La La. We go up there once a year and the last time we went it had either moved or closed down. :(
 

4. Do you eat fast food? If so whats your favorite?
Chic Fil A or Sonic
 

5. What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?
Fixodent. I am still wearing a partial until my surgery heals in 5-6 months. Can't.wait. to get rid of it!
 

6. What is the weirdest TV show you watch?
People seem surprised that I watch Teen Mom 2.

Sunday Social- Pinterest

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

I'm a jeans, tee and flats kind of girl. 2 of my favorite colors are gray and green. I love scarves, tank tops and cardigans. I have a ton of great outfits pinned but this one is the most me.

 I also am in serious need of a new purse. I am in love with this one(and the other 20 I have pinned)

2. What is your favorite food pin?
 I have only made a couple of things on my food board. This is something I need. Red Velvet and cream cheese? Seriously? Yum!

 3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

 We were married before Pinterest was cool(or even made?) But I just searched "wedding" and love this.
I love, love, love the dress I wore but I've always loved the dresses with color. This is so fun! I assume you wouldn't really see any of the pink unless you held the skirt up. I love that pop of color!

 

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

 I don't have a DIY/craft board since I'm not a crafter or DIYer :)

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

 I don't have a quote/verse/lyric board but I have a board for quotes to put in the girl's yearly photobooks. Books I am seriously behind in making... They all have to do with love, daughters and being parents. I love this because I remember telling Alan this after we brought Madison home from the hospital. That it's amazing how I thought I loved him as much as I could until I saw him with Madison and how much more my love grew for him.

I have no idea. I like trying new things but there are no meals that I feel I can cook really well.

  I don't wear much makeup and I'm actually looking to switch foundation/powder brands if anyone has any recs.

Facebook, Instagram, Candy Crush and Pinterest.

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?

Probably not.. I don't eat horribly anyway. 

 

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the holidays?

I was doing Jillian Michaels ab workout before I found out I was pregnant. I plan on returning to that once I feel okay enough after having Riley.

3. What is your favorite thing you did over the holidays?

Watching Madison play with all of her new toys. Spending time with her since she was out of school for 2.5 weeks.
 

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2014 that you did not in 2013?

Exercise.  I hate exercising. I need to get my butt in gear and my blood work results better.

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why.

Having Riley is the only thing I know will happen. 

 

Sunday Social - December 29

1. What is the best New Years Eve you've ever had?

We went to the beach years ago. We aren't big drinkers, dancers, club goers or music/concert lovers so none of the parties were for us. We walked around aimlessly trying to find somewhere to fit in. We couldn't justify paying $30-$50 to get into a club to just sit around and not do much. I think we just ended up hanging outside in the common area with a drink. Woohoo!

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?

Nope! I will be sleeping, most likely. Unless Riley decides to come in the next 2 days. Then I could possibly be in the hospital or up with a newborn :)

3. Name a book we should all read come January?

Oh I don't read.. No suggestions here.
 

4. What are your new year's resolutions? 

I will make a separate post about this coming up this week. Be a better wife and mom tops the list though.

Sunday Social- November 3

    1. What is currently on your wish list? Funny you ask.. I just blogged about this last week. Go here.  
2. Share a new iPhone, droid, iPad app that you have recently discovered that we all need. I don't have a ton of apps but I do love Shopkick and Cartwheel for Target. Shopkick is an app where you get points for walking in, scanning items and buying things at certain stores. The points add up and you can redeem those points for gifts/giftcards. I have gotten Restaurant.com and Amazon gift cards and magazine subscriptions. It's real easy! Cartwheel is a coupon app for Target. I have saved a good bit using the app.  If I pick up things that weren't on my list(because who doesn't?), I just go to the app, type in the brand or item in the search bar and add the coupon if there's one. They even have coupons for icees and popcorn-Target musts for a 2 year old!  
3. What is a new fall tv show that you have added to your dvr? Mom. I have always loved Ana Faris and this show is pretty hilarious! I'm glad it got picked up for the rest of the season!

2. What do you love most about blogging? Sharing things that happen and being able to look back and re-read things or when I need to know something.
 
3. Why did you start blogging? So our family and friends would know what was going on with us.

4. What is something you’d want to tell someone just starting out in the blog world? To blog whatever you want to talk about. My blog has hopped all over the place before. I don't think all blogs need to have one specific topic that they talk about.


5. Biggest blogging learning experience you’ve had? People do actually read your blog and enjoy it :)

Sunday Social-August 18

1. What is something you've always wanted to do but are afraid of? Swim with dolphins.

2. Where do you see yourself in five years? Here with 2 kids! Madison will be 7 and Riley will be 4.5. Both will be in school. We will be married almost 12 years. Wow.

3. What are you looking forward to before the end of 2013? Possibly having Riley. The holidays. 

4. What are your hopes for your blog? That people aren't bored out of their mind and actually read it. I stress about what to blog about and how often I blog and if it's interesting enough. I just want people to enjoy it.

5. Do you always see yourself living in your current town/city?  Not always. We talk about moving to the mountains all.the.time. Only time will tell. Maybe when we retire and the girls are all grown up.

6. What is your morning routine? Get up when Madison wakes(sometimes I set my alarm earlier to get ready), make her breakfast and get her to eating, let Wilma out and feed her, make my breakfast, check all the social sites and email. Usually shower between 10-11 if we don't have to be anywhere by then.

1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mexican

2. What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food? chips.. I love Salt and Vinegar!

3. What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten? I typically don't eat crazy stuff but I have tried Calamari(octopus)

4. What foods do you avoid at all costs? seafood, mushrooms, deviled eggs.

5. What meal reminds you of your childhood? mac &; cheese from the box. My sitter made it all the time and it was so good back then! Not so good now but still reminds me of her. Also, anytime my mom cooks for holidays or get togethers, it always reminds me.

6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it. I don't really cook the same thing over and over. I suscribe to Emeals so I'm constantly doing new things.

 3. What song reminds you of your childhood? I was(and still am) a huge New Kids on the Block fan, so any of those.

4. What songs put you in a good mood? "Better Man" Pearl Jam, Supermassive Black Hole or Madness by MUSE, Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden or any really good 90s Grunge/rock.

5. What is your music to rock out to in your car? If it's not Barney or Mickey on Pandora, I usually listen to a local rock station.

 6. What is the most embarrassing album or song you own? I don't own any songs or cds. I just use Pandora.

1. What is the best trip you've ever been on? Our 1st anniversary cruise to Mexico. So relaxing! We talk about it a lot.

2. What is your best idea for a girls weekend trip? Probably dinner and a concert weekend.

3. What is your best idea for a couples trip? Another cruise.

4. What is the best vacation on the cheap? Using VRBO.com.

5. What is the place you most want to visit? Hawaii. I also want to go back to Vermont in the Fall.

1. What is your favorite store to shop at? NY&Co, JCP, Gap

2. If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet? Kate Spade or Michael Kors purses and lots of them!

3. What is your must have closet staple?  tanktops. I wear one under just about every shirt that I wear. I own about 30.

4. What is your favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type) flats, wedges, Gianni Bini, Jessica Simpson

5. What is the best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find) I have really racked up on dresses at Goodwill. I've also had some great luck on Instagram, believe it or not :)

6. What is a style you'd love to try? I'd like more 'grown up'. I'm a tshirt, jeans and flats/flip flops kind of gal.  I'd like to dress up sometimes without someone asking why I'm dressed up..

1. What is your biggest driving pet peeve? When people pass you and then turn! Seriously?!

4. What is your most irrational fear? driving under airplanes that are flying low-reason #2 I hate Atlanta.

1.  How did you come up with your blog name? Well it's mine and my husband's name :) Neither of us have nicknames and I'm not creative enough to come up with something catchy.


 2. What is your favorite thing about blogging? Keeping a journal of our lives. I can't tell you the times I've referenced back to something.


3. What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without? That there are sites that will matchup coupons with sales/items. AllthingsTarget and IheartPublix are my favs! I've gotten a ton of stuff free or super cheap just by scanning these sites! 

4. Facebook or Twitter? and why? Facebook. I've tried Twitter and I just don't have the time to keep up.



 5. If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be? Umm.. Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Ripa.. I have no idea!


6. What is something you want people to know about your blog? That I take a lot of time and energy to write these posts and share them with everyone. I hope people like reading them and enjoy learning about us or seeing things that Madison does that you wouldn't have normally seen/known. I am, by far, not a writer. I write like I speak.......without the southern twang :)

Happy Mother's Day!! 

1. 1 year ago I was doing... being a mom to an 8 month old. Reread the blog here

2. 5 years ago I was doing... We were newly moved into our current house.

3. 10 years ago I was doing... Oh gosh. I had to look back to see what I was doing 1 year ago. I have no idea about 10. Probably something I don't want to remember :)

4. 1 year from now I'll be doing... Being a mom to a 2 1/2 year old and a wife of 7 years.

5. 5 years ago I'll be doing... Who knows? Madison will be 6! I will be almost 40. geez.

6. 10 years from now I'll be doing... This is making me sad. Madison will be 11. I will be 42 and Alan will be 47. Who knows what we will be doing and where we'll be.. Hopefully super happy and healthy! :)
