Easter 2016

Saturday, we went to the egg hunt at the local State Park

Madison found an egg with a number inside and won that big treat basket

We put food coloring in shaving cream and Riley rolled her eggs around

Madison didn't want to dye her eggs that way, so she just painted hers!

the girls planted jellybeans..

..that grew into suckers overnight

Sunday, we went to church, which included a butterfly release. A friend let Riley hold her butterfly and her hubby was able to snap this picture.

After church, we had lunch with family. Since it was raining, we had an egg hunt inside.

Table Rock Beach

Madison's been asking to go to the beach or go swimming just about everyday for the last month. When we went to Lake Lure a couple of weeks ago, she wanted to get in the water so bad she couldn't stand it! Wading in it wasn't enough! So yesterday we all went to Table Rock, SC. There's a lake there and they have made a small 'beach'. When we got there, Alan wanted to scout things out before we all got out. He came back to the car and said they were making everyone get off the beach due to bad weather coming in. We walked to the playground and let Madison play. She was able to play about 15 minutes before it started drizzling. We all walked back to the car and waited it out for the few minutes that it lasted. I stayed in the car with Riley while Alan took Madison back to the playground. They headed back our way and around 3:10, they opened the beach back up.

We got lucky and got the shade from the Lifeguard's umbrella...

She finally knocked out after fighting it for a while!

This past week

Alan took off work Wednesday and his work was off Thursday and Friday. A nice, long weekend! So of course, that means getting projects done. He pressure washed the gutters, sidewalk, columns and anything else with a shade of green on it.

Thursday, we went to my moms cookout. We didn't keep Madison awake to watch fireworks because she had only napped 30 minutes that day and was wiped out. Plus I think she would be afraid of them.

Then he decided to clean out Baby #2's bedroom, which was his office. He did most of the work while I watched Madison but it all got done! Everything is out except the paper shredder and litterbox. In the mix, he also rearranged her playroom. She seems to play with her toys more when you rearrange them.

Church on Sunday went well. We decided that Alan would not walk with us to the nursery. We would see how it would go and if she was upset, I would stay with her a bit. She, of course, pitched a fit when we seperated from Alan but she settled down shortly after. We went in the nursery and she seemed fine. A little girl came up to give her a snack and she took it and then asked to get down. She then went and played in the puppet house. After a bit, she went over to play with the kitchen and I snuck out. I made it to church in time. They announced during church that an ice cream truck would be giving away scoops after church, so we picked up M and enjoyed some ice cream while she played games. We weren't the only people there, promise!

I had an unscheduled dentist appointment yesterday due to my partial chipping. He fixed it up and made it fit tighter. Much better. I have to wear it another year since I can't have my surgery until after Baby is born.

What have you been up to the past week?

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've always been a fan of Valentine's Day. Most people hate it and call it a Hallmark holiday. I say, any good excuse to get dressed up and go some place you wouldn't normally go. Now with a daughter, we need any good reason to make ourself go on a date. We don't like asking people to watch Madison so we hardly ever go out without her. Alan has picked the place to go for V-day and I was happy about him making that decision.

So, whatever you do(or don't do), Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanksgiving pictures

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

These were taken at my mom's Thursday. I didn't even take my camera in at Alan's mom's. oops.

Madison loved mama's horse, Fancy. She's seen her quite a bit before but I guess she's getting old enough to realize what she is.

That's my stepdads great-grand daughter, Gracelyn

Kylyn. Madison's 8 month old cousin

My child's crazy hair!

Kylyn is already taking steps! So crazy to see these little people walking around!

2012 pumpkins

I realize I'm stretching out Halloween 2 days passed the real Holiday. I meant to add these to Madison's costume post but I forgot.

I also failed to take a picture of Alan's pumpkin before it got all mushy and started falling in so it doesn't look much like it did when he first carved it but here it is:

Can you tell it's Patrick from Spongebob?

Maybe this will help.. Here's the stenciL :)
This is Madison's. I had planned on doing a Spongebob stencil for her but we kept putting it off and I didn't carve this one until the night before Halloween so she's lucky it got carved at all :)

This is my Spongebob pumpkin.

I loved having the pumpkins on the porch... Madison really loved pointing to them and going "p p p p" (smacking her lips together).. When I first sat them out there, I told her they were "Pumpkins" and she said "B" (everything is the B noise) and I said "Not "B" but P P P P (making the P noise)" and from that time on they were always "p p p p" .. so cute :)
