Yesterday was Riley's 3rd birthday! Her party got postponed on Saturday because of the snow, so we will have her rescheduled party in a couple of weeks :)
She started by having a special snack at school on Friday. Doughnut holes, Pirate Booty and grapes.
Her birth day and the 3 birthdays after.
Bubble Guppies Rock N Roll
We took her to Toys R Us and let her pick out a few toys. She picked a roaring dinosaur, a big plastic beetle and a family that she can play in their dollhouse with.
We went to church and she even got to go to Children's Church since there was no nursery. After that, we went to eat pizza where she ate 2 plates of food!
We then had to go get Madison's glasses fixed at the mall, so the girls picked out cookies and on the way home, we stopped and got some cake.
It's been a fast 3 years. We've watched Riley become even more funny! Girl is SO funny! She has also learned to stick up for herself around other kids! She's so sweet that she was letting kids just run over her. Now, she's defending herself and I love it! She is smart and sweet and kind. She loves playing with little figurines and pretend play. Her and Madison are best friends one minute and not the next. They play together really well 90% of the time. She loves to eat food and eat most of what I give her. She loves fruit, especially grapes and strawberries. She is very emotional and can cry if you look at her wrong but is overall VERY happy. Everyone that meets her, loves her! Happy Birthday, Riley! We love you!!
The girls started back preschool yesterday! Riley moved into 2K and Madison is now in her last year there at 4K! Still can't believe this is her last year before Kindergarten!
Ready to go after breakfast!
I, obviously, cut off any personal info like their preschool name/teacher's names...
The rest of Riley's sign says;
28 lbs
34" tall
I am 2.5 years old
Madison's says;
I want to be a MERMAID when I grow up
I am 4.5 years old
42lbs
3'7" tall
I *heart* PJ Masks, dressing up, chicken fries, pink
Both girls fantastic going into their class on the first day. They both gave me a kiss and just walked right in and played.. well... okay.
After drop off, I had a busy morning of parent orientations, chatting with a few friends, getting church ready for dinner guests tonight, ran to the grocery store and to QT to get the girls an after school treat. Then it was pick up time!
After school, we came home, ate lunch and the girls played together in Madison's room for a bit before splitting up. Riley went in the play room to play and Madison wanted to rest in her room while watching her tablet. Riley stayed in the play room for over an hour! After that, they wanted to watch a movie so I fixed some popcorn and they laid in the floor watching Lilo and Stitch until supper time!
We left Wednesday, June 29th and headed up early. Stopped by our usual Waffle House, had breakfast and took the long way to TN. We stopped by Cherokee, NC and walked in some stores there and stopped to get ice cream at 2 Crowes.
We got to our hotel around 2:00 and were able to check in. The girls wanted to get in the pool for a bit..
We went to The Island that evening and walked around, played games at the arcade and had supper at Mellow Mushroom.
Madison wanted to do this obstacle course so we let her do that. She was so proud of herself and we were too! This girl loves adventurous and outdoorsy things. She is her daddy's daughter for sure!
..and Riley got to ride the Merry Go Round
Waiting on the dancing fountains at The Island
Dollywood Day 1
Her favorite ride
Me and Riley took a break while Alan and Madison rode rides
Waiting on the train
She loved the fireworks!
Riley, not so much.
Hotel life suits this one..
July 2- went to Splash Country for half a day(the girls didn't seem to enjoy it as much as we thought they would). We got in the truck and Riley fell asleep. Alan was able to move her into the room and she took a 2 hour nap!
That evening, we rode the trolley into Gatlinburg. Walked the main street, ate at Crawdaddy's and rode the chair lift.
Got some ice cream and a few great pics while at the top.
I am the worst panoramic picture taker, ever. I don't know how you people don't have lines in your pictures.
Real life..
Got my stars and stripes and we headed home on July 4!
We decided to buy a GoPro after our first
Dollywood day. We used to have a camcorder but it messed up a few years
ago and we never bought another and our phone quality isn't the best.
Here's the movie I made with our footage! It was a lot of fun putting
this together.
