Random goodness

I know I haven't been blogging much. Here's a mish mash of what's going on!

-We have decided to join the church we've been attending. I think it's a great mix of what Alan and I are both looking for. They have a contemporary and traditional service which suits us both. The contemporary service serves coffee, juice and donuts during the service and has a praise band. They meet in the gym and the sermon gets piped in through video. We have enjoyed going and they have so many activities during the Summer. They have something every Sunday after church. It's also Madison's future preschool. We will be joining in the Fall and Madison will then get baptized.

-I think reading isn't for me. I just tried reading Confessions of a Shopaholic. A series that every girl has loved. Well not me. Maybe it's the non-reader in me. Maybe it's the frugal side of me. I just couldn't read more than 30 pages. I got stressed reading about a girl who had maxed out all of her cards, yet kept spending money. I know there was probably a great ending to the story but I couldn't do it. So I picked up Scary Mommy's Motherhood Comes Naturally. I love her blogs. If you are the faint of heart or want to read nothing but sappy kids' stories, this blog isn't for you! She gives you the true side of parenting. It's not all butterflies and lollipops(though she does add a few of those stories here and there) I'm hoping I can get through this one. It's only a 14 day rental so I sure hope so! :)

-Are you on Instagram? I have now made a seperate account to sell Madison's clothes. I have also bought some clothes for me and shoes for her on there. Super cheap. Email me to get my shop name if you need girl clothes newborn-18 months size!

-Speaking of clothes, I racked up at NY&Co yesterday. I went to the mall to buy a gift and wanted to walk around. Glad I did! They had 80% off racks! I got a pair of pj pants and 4 or 5 shirts for the price of what 1 of their shirts normally cost! Score!

-I have bought all of Madison's birthday party supplies. Plates, napkins, cups, forks, decorations, favors, etc. I also bought her a shirt to wear that day. All I need to get now is a "2" candle(2 Walmarts didn't have them!), the food, invitations, some ribbon(a quick Hobby Lobby trip) and order her cupcakes and cookies, if I can settle on a design I won't change 5 times like I did last year. Oopsie.. Her party photographer was booked back in April. I've also made her invite list and menu. I'm on a roll, ya'll!

I have a lot more ramblings but I will post another one in a few days :) What have you been up to? Comment with your ramblings!

Things for Madison

I went to a local consignment sale last night for Consignor night since I put some of her things for sale in there. When I dropped of her things, I was scouting out the big toys and had my eye on a play kitchen for her! I got there early and got in line and made a b-line to the kitchen! Score! There were 2 exactly alike but $14 difference between them. Of course I grabbed the cheaper one :) I also found a booster seat(not pictured) for Alan's mom when she watches Madison, 6 sleepers, 4 shirts, 4 pants and 3 pair of shoes all for $56! I am so excited at my scores and plan on going back for half off day on Sunday. I've also made $9 at the sale(after the $8 fee was taken out) so hopefully that number will keep going up and I can break even! We plan on giving her the kitchen for her 1st Birthday here in a couple of weeks(!!!!) If you don't shop consignor sales and you have kids, you are crazy :) I got name brand clothes and shoes(Old Navy, K Swiss, Carters) for next to nothing!

On a side note, every one that was invited should hopefully have their invite by now. Isn't she the cutest thing? Here's the picture from her invite. Love.that.girl.

Shopping annonymous

So I admit I may have a slight problem. The problem is that the stores cater to little girls more than they do boys. Dresses, tights, shoes, hairbows, and on and on... I stopped by Target Friday after work to just look around. All of these items were on clearance so that counts for something, right? Just look at those little dress shoes! For $2/pair, I had to get 2 sizes! And the socks were $0.25/pair. The 2 pink pants were $1 each! I got all this, a pack of Huggies 72 count wipes and 30 hangers for right at $20. I vow to stop shopping for this little girl unless it's a super good deal.

More of Madi's things...

For those of you that don't know yet, our daughter's name will be Madison. We haven't decided on a middle name yet. We will also call her Madi. This little girl already has a half full closet! We haven't even started working on her nursery yet but I figured I'd post about some of the things that are in her room and closet!

My best friend, Amanda, gave me this turtle bank a couple of weeks after I found out I was pregnant. It goes perfectly with her room, since her room is similar to the color of the shell! It's so stinkin' cute! She also gave me the book you see behind the turtle, a blanket, Winnie the Pooh towel and a Lil Peanut onesie. Madison is lucky to have an aunt that cares for her so much!

I found this plaque in Hallmark one day and had to have it! If you don't know already, it took us a year and 7 months to get pregnant which isn't long compared to some people we have met but when you want it as bad as we did, it seemed like a lifetime!
I went on another consignment shop venture today. Not the same store as yesterday. I got just as lucky though! I came across this burping blanket in a bag and noticed the M monogram! Had to have it! It still had tags on it and I got it for $5, which is a steal!

I also got all of this. Those hats are so adorable! I got all 4 hats for .75! The little things above the hats are headbands :) And the blue onesie has pink and purple flowers on it so no one thinks our little girl is a boy!

A closeup of the cutest little Panda socks!

I also got all of this! Alan loves the 2 little dresses!

And of course, he loves this too!

I got all of those clothes, hats and blanket today from the consignment shop for $19! Some people don't believe in shopping at consignment shops but I say why not? Babies grow so fast, I can't see spending $10 on one outfit when I can get 5-10 outfits for that much! And many of the things I buy are brand new with tags and if they don't have tags, they look brand new!

16 weeks! March 17-24, 2011

Baby's now the size of an avocado! Tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean he/she can now hear you! Eyebrows, lashes and hair are filling in and taste buds are forming! This week was great. My appetite is still growing. I can eat until I pop and 30 minutes later, I'm hungry again. Belly measures 33" this week and my weight was 108.6 at the end of the week. Bedtime is 10-10:30.We also painted the entire inside of the house this week(except the bonus room upstairs- pics of house to come later this week!). Baby's room is now green!
Lacewing from Sherwin Williams to be exact. Hard to tell from the tiny square but it's a little more limey in person. We went out last weekend and looked at some nursery bedding/decorations and came to the conclusion that light limey green was the color that was used in both boy and girl bedding. I can't wait to start buying things to decorate!

We left for Vermont on the 24th(Thursday) and came back yesterday(27th). Alan had some business up there and I decided to tag along! We had a great trip. Baby's first plane ride! I will blog about that later this week too. In the meantime, look at these precious clothes I got for the baby on our trip. Carters and Gap were having a great sale! Closeup of the sweetest onesie! And couldn't be more right! All in all, week 16 was a really great week. I'm glad Alan and I got to get away for a few days, even if our flight situation wasn't the best. More on that later!
