We went by Charlotte Motor Speedway last week to see the lights.
-Take plenty of cash. The building in the infield is full of vendors like Orgami Owl, Scentsy, Essential Oils, etc(which I still don't understand). They had a station to make ornaments(that you gave donations to do) and pictures with Santa which cost. They had some food vendors like funnel cakes, hot dogs, philly cheese steaks, etc. Outside, there was a free petting zoo(the food cost), pony rides, a carnival ride, train ride and you could get marsmallow or s'mores kits(all for fees).
-Allow 2-3 hours on a week night. It was apparently double or triple that on a weekend night. We went on a Thursday. There was no line to get in and it only took us roughly 8 minutes to ride on the track itself. The infield lights took a while because of traffic and the Village takes some time to enjoy.
It was fun but it's not something we would do every year. Definitely not worth a drive to visit unless you are already close by, but it was fun to do once.
